Robotoad

Game sprites from a prompt, in every direction.

Describe a character, monster, prop or building. Robotoad builds a 3D model, then renders it from your game's camera, so all 8 directions and every animation frame stay on model. You pay the GPU time it took, plus 50%.

One model, 8 directions, two themes. Rendered by this pipeline.

How a sprite gets made

Most AI sprite tools redraw your character for each frame, so faces and proportions drift. Robotoad generates the character once as a 3D model and renders every frame from it.

  1. Concept

Your prompt is wrapped in a theme and an asset template, then drawn as a clean concept image. Or upload your own art.

  2. 3D model

The concept becomes a textured 3D model. Characters are rigged so they can animate.

  3. Render

A fixed game camera, lighting and outline render 1, 4 or 8 directions for each animation.

  4. Sheets

You get sprite sheets, frame metadata for your engine, previews, and the 3D model itself.

The model is saved. Ask for a new animation or camera angle later and Robotoad re-renders the same model, which is fast and cheap.

Build characters with gear that swaps

Make a base body, then generate hair, armour and clothes fitted to it. Each piece renders as its own transparent layer, lined up pixel for pixel with the body in every direction and frame. Your game stacks the layers it needs, like a paper doll.

Rendering also handles what's in front of what: the helmet layer has the parts hidden by the eyes already cut out.

Themes keep a whole game consistent

A theme fixes the art direction, palette, outline and lighting for everything you generate. Pick one, or define your own in the request.

$1.65 / GPU hour

Each job is billed on the seconds the GPU actually ran, at $1.10 an hour, plus 50%. Every finished job comes with a receipt showing the seconds and the math. If a job fails, it's free.

Credits come in $5, $20, $50 and $100 packs and don't expire.

    Built for AI coding agents

Robotoad is an MCP server. Add it to Claude Code, Cursor or any MCP client and your agent can make the art it needs while it builds your game: pick a theme, request a sprite, wait for the job, drop the sheet into your assets folder.

Everything the agent can do is also a plain REST API.

    Questions

    Who owns what I generate?

You do. Robotoad uses openly licensed models for commercial use (TRELLIS.2 is MIT-licensed), and doesn't claim rights to your output. Check your own game's requirements for disclosure of AI-made art.

Can I use my own characters or rigs?

Yes. Upload a rigged GLB as a base body and Robotoad fits generated gear to it and renders it with your camera settings.

    Why is it this cheap?

Because the price is the GPU cost plus a fixed 50%, and re-rendering a saved model takes seconds. There's no subscription and no credit multiplier.

    Is adult content allowed?

Not at the moment. Characters and base bodies are generated wearing at least plain underwear, and adult wording in prompts is changed to match.
